Kaua'i, like a beautiful flower floating in the ocean is known as the Garden Isle. Kaua'i means many things to many people. Some claim, that here, you can go through great karmic growth spurts in true digital fashion. Intense learning experiences compressed into lightening-fast passages of time. WHO knows???

There are two words that the Hawaiians use to very concisely describe the geographical experience of being on an island like Kaua'i. One is 'mauka', meaning towards the mountain. The other is 'makai', meaning towards the ocean.

For me, Kaua'i has been a definite 'makai' experience. It began in a tiny Hawaiian shack; on a small, secluded beach; with it's own beautiful, little waterfall; three years after I came to Kaua'i. Two sweet years later; right after we flew over the circular rainbow; my personal embodiment of the 'makai' experience became part of the actual essence of Kaua'i. (Spirit)

Part of my heart will now always be part of Kaua'i's beautiful mountains, beaches, ocean, fish, rainbows, birds, flowers, people, waterfalls........................................
