In the long ago and the far away time of yesterday my mother and I drove
to the end of the road at Haena. It is where the highway stops in the sand
and the 6 million year old volcanic cliffs rise from the Pacific. "You
could not miss this?" she asked as we drove around hair pin turns,
over one lane bridges, passing working farms, rich resorts and precambrian
wilderness. Since I had been sent here by Chief Dalene Wind Trees, sacred
knowledge keeper of the Bear Clan, Cherokee, I knew that I had to trust
my Aumakua or higher self. I knew I was on a Scared Journey and I was holding
to trust. Lays, Bali Hi and endless perfect beaches lined the road as we
grew closer Many people were there. It was late afternoon and the sun
reflected hotly but the sand was cool under my feet. "No mom, I've
always wanted to see the end of the road," I replied. No words I
could use would describe this journey. Of course there was nowhere to
park so we were only going to stop and take pictures. She gave me her camera
and I took mine and out I ran to "capture the moment." With my
intention of getting the shot and running back to where she had stopped
I ran past a man of our darkest human race and focused intensely. He sat
in a woven web aluminum chair with a table, clothed and covered with volcanic
rock. But I was not aware of his watching, I had to cameras and was getting
my shots. Shear cliffs towered overhead and sun bathers scattered out over
the sand. I paused as an older man of the lightest race was grabbed by
the spirit foot (root) of an older than old tree. He was bent in half trying
to rebalance. It was then that the man of the darkest race and I met eyes.
Aloha (spirit and breath) I greeted as I walked to his table. I was called
then by my mother as she was jostling the parking. "I'm a healer."
he stated matter of factly. "Let me give you something for your journey."
Walking over near to the table he pointed to the stones. "Please
pick something. It is a gift from me and the earth to help you on your
sacred path." Without hesitation I took off a ring that I had just
purchased...(For this time?)... and placed it in his hand. "Mahalo
(thank you)," I said pushing it toward him. "The Native Americans
have always taught me to keep my circles of energy closed and I honor the
energy it took for you to find these." He turned to me saying "Even
though this is the end of the road and this journey, it is the beginning
of others. Let me close my circle with you for this is indeed the end."
Picking out a natures formed peridot bowl, large heavy and of great value,
he told me of how he had charged it with great healing energy and that it
would help with the great changes happening in my life. Thinking I could
keep it only as long as I was in Kauai (for it is forbidden, very bad and
well documented, to remove unblessed stones from these island.) I left
the end behind and started a new beginning (at this conference?). Later
of the thousands of shops my mother could have stopped at she (no coincedence?)
found a Native woman who told her that the Healer's name is Micheal and
that this stone was indeed blessed ie., safe to remove from the Islands.
So now I ask, "Was I here to come to the conference of for another
reason. I am honored by Michael's great gifting and I hope you to will
seek the end of the road and in a pure and unquestioning heart receive a
gifting.... Mahalo, Maggie
